FASHION STUDY COLLECTION BRANDING & COLLATERAL

When I was hired at Columbia College Chicago’s Fashion Study Collection, there was no unified branding or vision identify for the collection. Early on, I knew we needed to create strong, consistent branding to market the Fashion Study Collection (FSC) to external and internal audiences.

I collaborated with the college’s creative team and led the strategy on design concepts for a branded logo, brochures, posters, bookmarks, and more. I wanted the FSC’s “look” to be fun, playful, colorful, and minimal. I directed all the photo shoots and wrote copy for each piece of collateral.

To market the FSC to external audiences, solicit donations, and to build our reputation, I came up with the idea to create a trifold, accordion brochure with beautiful imagery of garments and detailed information about the collection. This brochure won an American Inhouse Design Award.

On the other hand, for students, I wanted a take-away item with the quick hits: the who, what, when, and where. This piece also needed to be beautiful, but less expensive. Additionally, it could serve a dual function as a bookmark — something a student could actually use.
